Build and release: buildall.ps1 checks the toolchain, runs the tests, verifies version consistency, builds the app and installers, and writes a build report with a proper exit code.
Centralized versioning: package.json is the single source of truth, synced to Cargo.toml, tauri.conf.json and the generated src/version.ts (About dialog and update checker).
Changelog maintained from this release on.
Automatic update checker: checks at startup and every 60 seconds over HTTPS with a timeout, compares versions, notifies only on a newer release, and remembers dismissed releases for the current session.
Windows file associations: associate supported text and code extensions with NikEdit, with a mandatory backup of the original handlers and a restore action.
Code formatting: the new Format code button (Edit ▸ Format code, Ctrl+Shift+F) re-indents the active document for its language — braces for C-style languages, JSON and CSS, tags for HTML and XML, colons for Python — and a one-step Undo reverts it.
